On Tuesday 18th of November, Mines of Moria went live..It brought along with it, new content, new areas, and the final book in volume 1, Book 15...After a frustating few hours, travelling around Angmar, we finally reached the climax of the book, chapter 12, a fellowship quest..As we didnt really know what to expect we charged in with both feet and got our A***s well and trully handed to us on a plateFrown, ofc the fact it was a orange lvl 52 quest and we were all lvl 50 should have given us a clue..However we persivered, and after a few attempts, well to be honest alot of attemps, we were able to work out a winning strategy..The fight was long, made even more difficult by some damn elf chick, who makes Legolas look normal, she ran around agroing eveything in the room, doing things to make even hunters blushSealed...With room after room of mob, finally we reached a boss, the one who had killed us numerous times before...We got ready for battle and hoped our new strategy would work..There were deaths, but finally we managed to defeat Mordrambor, and Narmeleth, destroyed Narchul..A loud scream was herd on vent, and cries of joy and elation rang out, and kin chat was full of we done it pots (mainly by one personTongue out)..This joy was short lived when we realized there was more to come, and after a few close calls, and even more deaths, we made it to the final boss, Mordirith, and slayed him, with very little difficulty...Thus we ended our epic adventure, alot poorer, but happy..The lead upto this chapter was long and boring, but the end was worth it..We were also the first on Evernight to complete this bookLaughing...Now I hear you ask, who were these brave fools who devoted hours of there day, to the same task, and all for a nice horse and a crap painting, well ladies i gents, I present the winning team, Tinkers, Baratudor, Amfindel, Macdui, Doornob, and Nobalga

I would like to thank everybody from Free Spirits, Shadows of Truth and the odd friend for attending our Helegrod raids. Thursday started well, and even tho I was totally lost we manged to get all bosses up to thorog down with no real problems, except Xexi who decide she didnt like the place and kept dieing as a way to escapeLaughing. The spider boss was a manik afair, which was to be expected, with poison fliying so fast no hnt was ever going to keep up, but even in the chaos we managed to beat her, with no issues. Altho we were unable to down Thorog, we gave him a thorough beating a few times, and even got him down to 150k morale. No mean feet when he starts with 380k and we havent tried him before and we didnt have the best group makeup either. I had fun on both days, altho I must admit trying to lead 24 people is very tricky, especially when some just do random stuff, ignore you or start things before you are readyTongue out, you know who you are :). And I hope you all enjoyed the runs, they certainly made a change to the rift, and the new scenary was nice. So our next challenge is some guy named the Whatcher, must be a toughie tho as they've given us an extra 10 levels to get before we can have a goSmile.  See you all in the undergoud relm called Moria, I'm sure the dwarfs will love it, and who knows we may finally spot that most elusive of dwarfs, a female..me I preffer the open spaces of rivendel, but hey i am a elf, and besides my arrows may get stuck in the roof.

As you might have noticed we are now live with our CM-system for the webpage a few days before the release of Mines of Moria. Since this is still pretty new for us we will continue to do some work to it to make it feel more like "home". The new system will allow us more flexibility with adding news and information about the kinship, Lord of the Rings Online and Middle-Earth in general and we are of course open for any suggestions if you feel that anything is missing.

And yepp yet another login for this!

Bringing Thaurlach down one last time before MoM PDF Print E-mail

I better make a quick note about this before I forget all about it.

For the whole fight there´s actually not very much to say about it up to the final seconds of the last fight which started off pretty much the same way as it usually do but with a twist in the end. When Bob got down to his last 10k it seemed like the entire raid felt a relief and just ignored the elf-chick to be focused on Bob. Probably she´s been on ignore for a long long time after that long speech she makes before entering the huge prison-chamber of Thaurlach. When she finally got some attention it was way too late and a split second before Bob crashed into the ground the elf-chick snuffed it and people in the raid started dying. Luckily the hero of the day and yours truly Xaurion did put his halberd to good use and dished out the killing blow before we were wiped, and we won and lost at the same time. The effect of this weird occurance was that we were able to loot the chest but not the corpse of the Balrog. I think we shelf this run to the list of successful runs and a funny freak occurance to remember when we head into the mines Smile

The heroes of this last raid into the rift for a while was: Kaowyn, Wiz, Halte, Eorin, Macdui, Nobalga, Rarina, Meiffert, Brophy, Queleth, Baratudor and Xaurion.

Fun but somewhat unsuccessful rift-run PDF Print E-mail

Yesterdays rift-run was a run to remmember. Very far from the usual "you know what to do" and first run on Thrang was a disaster, I don´t know how many times those short-legged dwaven guardians decided they were defeated and took a rest. Tongue out

Anyway after the Free Spirits turned Thrangs room into theatre and perfomed the play "The Defeat of Thrang" we started the second attempt and after that awesome performance we couldn´t fail it seemed, no deaths and old Thrang was history. I really enjoyed taking the part of Thrang in that play and I have to get his one-liners right, even though my "RRRRRAAAWWRGGG!" was chilling I forgot Thrang´s trademark "ENOUGH!", next time I will remember that...

Then we went to fight Bob and due to time limit we could only give it one go and that turned out to be a bit confusing. The ever-seer room went fairly smooth. Small mistakes were made like we didn´t release the add in Bob´s room in the beginning and such. Besides that we were all fine, but then disaster kicked in, when opening the door the team outside decided they had done their share and we lost a minstrel, loremaster and the tank who was tanking Bob outside. This was actually our doom, suddenly we had no time to re-arrange the plan to the new situation and panic spread, and with new people, alts and me as a loremaster we had a quick wipe.

Now this might seem like we just did badly which brings me to this, we had a run built up by mostly alts, people new to this part of the rift and people returning after 6 months or so for MoM. If you feel bad about this run, then think again. Just off my head the following in the run were alts Xorgoth, Melodrien, Drarin, Baldarella, Reebus and Rarina. That´s half the raid and we got Thrang anyway! So cheer up it´s never too late to die Wink
