By joining and remaining a member of Free Spirits, you agree to comply with the rules of conduct set out below. Failure to comply with these rules may result in your being dismissed from Free Spirits, with or without prior warning. These rules are likely to evolve over time, so please check them on a regular basis.

1. Once your application is accepted, you will be promoted to a full member in the relevant game. Your alts will remain recruits, to assist our members with differentiating between your main character and your alts. If the game allows, please update your note in the social panel of your alts to give the name of your main character.

2. We are a casual kin/guild, but we wish to avoid an inactive membership. You will be automatically dismissed if you are inactive for a period of 30 days or more without having let one of the officers know, either ingame or via the forum. Should you wish to rejoin after a period of inactivity, please speak to an officer.

3. Free Spirits expects its members to be respectful and friendly at all times, both to other Free Spirits members and to other players of the games we play. Members wear the Free Spirits name in the games and poor behaviour reflects badly upon all of our members. You agree that you will not use language that includes or implies taunts on the grounds of sex, sexuality, religion, race or disability. You agree that you will not bully or harass any player, whether in Free Spirits or not. Any behaviour that brings the name of Free Spirits into disrepute will be taken very seriously by the officers and is likely to lead to your expulsion from Free Spirits.

4. Whilst we do not pressure our members to raid, we recognise that for many members raiding will be an important part of the game. We use the phpraider system to organise raids and a Ranking Calculation System (RCS) to ensure raid loot is distributed in a fair manner. If you have signed up and are no longer able to come, please update the phpraider as soon as possible to show that you will not be attending. Raid applicants will be queued until approximately 24 hours before that raid start time, at which point the raid group will be decided. Officers will always seek to ensure that everyone who wishes to raid, gets to do just that. However, there are often competing interests involved in deciding upon a workable raid group, e.g. having the right numbers of each of the relevant classes or (where we are taking new people to familiar bosses) including some experienced players too. Please speak to an officer if you have any questions on this subject. Invites for raids are sent out 15 minutes before the raid start time. The invite time is posted on the phpraider. All participants in the raid are expected to be listening in on kin Ventrilo and at the relevant ingame meeting location, fully repaired and with relevant equipment, potions and hope pots in time for their invite. Turning up late, or worse, not turning up at all, wastes the time of everyone else in the raid. Don't do it.

5. Being in a kin or guild gives you access to the skills and generosity of other members. Please do not abuse this. Please don't beg other members for money or items. If you wish to have a crafter make you an item, it is up to you to provide the materials and, if applicable, the postage. Similarly, if you require other members to help you finish a quest or obtain an item, please ensure that you are fully prepared. Don't expect them to have to use expensive consumables up (e.g. hope pots) in achieving your goal. It is usually easier to find volunteers if you post your request on the forum under the Forming Groups section. Finally, members are more likely to assist you if you are polite and helpful yourself. People tend to notice when someone leaves a group as soon as they have secured their own items. By contrast, you will get a very different reception if you stay in a group to help the rest of them out and you remember to say please and thank you to those who have assisted you.

6. These forums are unmoderated, but the same rules of conduct apply to any posting you make on them. In addition, please be careful not to breach the intellectual property rights (e.g. copyright) of others. Should you be concerned by the nature or content of any posting made on these forums, please contact an officer.

7. Should you have any questions or issues regarding Free Spirits, please speak to our the leader in the relevant game or any of the officers, either ingame or via a pm on this forum.
